When I was working as operation Manager in 250 MW Karbala Power station, there was one issue that during cold weather, the PSRV pressure safety relief valve located at the down stream of the LDO forwarding pumps use to operate early the morning while unit (gas turbine frame 9e) was operating on partial Load. It was not closing normally therefore I advised operator to increase load by 10MW and this step was helping to close the PSRV. The Idea is that as soon as load is increased on gas turbine, the fuel flow towards turbine increases consequently pressure in the LDO pipe drops causes the PSRV to close.
As soon as the PSRV was closed, then operator use to reduce load gradually to its original load set and LDO system remains stable.
